History of the Racers for Kids

The Racers for Kids organization started in May of 2004 after years of involvement
with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Our middle child was diagnosed with
this disease on his 4th birthday, and our family has been dealing with it 24 hours a day,
seven days a week since then. The one thing my son enjoys, like myself, (with the
exception of video games) is cars and racing. So it is in honor of him that I have come
to this point to see if we can put together some fun and unique programs that will get
people with similar interests - auto racing fans - involved in helping us find a cure for
juvenile diabetes.
